The Funeral Parlor in Csengőd
In the last couple of years, the idea to expand the cemetery of the village of Csengőd has arisen, as the current funeral parlor cannot serve the needs of the settlement due to the increase of the population. The building of a new funeral parlor of 90 m2 became necessary. At the request of the client, the old funeral parlor will be kept intact, thus the cooling and preparatory functions required for funerals will be carried out in the old building as before, so the new funeral parlor can become the venue of paying last respects and saying goodbyes in a space suited for ceremonial use.
The two buildings together ensure the use for the intended purpose in accordance with respective laws. The mass of the building and its gradually opening dynamic originates from the thought of saying goodbye. From the entrance towards the graveyard, the massive, monolithic building gradually runs short and dissolves into thin air.
